A pensioner has to produce a Life certificate to the pension disbursing authorities ensuring that the pensioner is alive at the end of the year.
This procedure of life certificate is done either by the pensioner presenting himself personally or by submitting a form signed by a gazette officer such as a bank manager, Nagar Sevak, Gram Sevak, that he is alive.
The process of a Life certificate generated online popularly known as Jeevan Praman Patra is a digital life certificate.
In old age, people suffer from serious illnesses and cannot present themselves before the authorities are required to get their life certificates, so a digital life certificate is the best alternative.
Jeevan Praman is a hassle-free solution for submitting life certificates provided by the government of India, providing relief from queues.
What is required for a digital life certificate?
A pensioner has to provide his details such as Aadhaar Number, Name, Mobile Number, and self-declared Pension Related Information like PPO Number, Pension Account number, Bank details, Name of Pension Sanctioning Authority, Pension Disbursing Authority, etc. As this is an Aadhar-based authentication, the pensioner has to provide his/her biometrics either iris or fingerprint.

- Office of Pension Disbursing Agencies (PDA) such as Post Office, Banks, and the Treasury, also provide this service.
- It can also be generated from home/any location on a Windows PC/Laptop or Android Mobile with certain devices required for biometric authentication.

1) How to generate Jeevan Pramaan from CSC ?
· Pensioner visits a CSC
· He/she provides the required information to the
operator(vle). The details of the pensioner are provided into the system by the
operator i.e Jeevan Pramaan Application
· The pensioner has to then provide his/her
biometrics for authentication.
· On successful Aadhaar-based biometric
authentication, a unique id is generated known as Pramaan Id.
· An acknowledgment message quoting the
Pramaan Id is sent by mobile number and e-mail id provided by the pensioner
for future reference.
How to get a copy of Praman's id?
The operator directly prints the Praman id acknowledgment and hands it over to the pensioner or it can be printed from the copy sent on the pensioner's email id or downloaded from the website by mentioning the Praman id and OTP opted on the registered mobile phone.
2) How to generate Jeevan Pramaan at the bank or post office?
In a bank, the method used to generate a Praman id is similar to the one used above.
A customer can contact the nearest post office or place a request for a doorstep visit by the postman/Grameen Dak Sevak. A postman at the nearest post office will visit the pensioner on your request, and complete the process of generating Praman id at the pensioner's home by performing the task required.

On successful completion, a Pramaan ID is generated and it is shared with the pensioner.
Once the Pramaan ID is generated, pensioners may download the certificate through the link.
3) How to generate Jeevan Pramaan from home or personal id?
Get Enrolled or register, on the official Jeevan Pramaan website by entering your email id, Download Jeevan Pramaan Windows software and install it on your PC, or Android client software on any mobile or tablet.
Install the RD service required to run the biometric device.
Follow the software or app procedure by inserting the pensioner's mobile number, OTP The pensioner has to provide his/her biometric, either a fingerprint or iris(eye structure) and authenticate himself/herself by using a biometric device.
On successful completion, a Pramaan ID is generated and it is shared with the pensioner.
Android mobile face recognization app can be used to generate a digital life certificate.
Visit the official Jeevan Praman website and download the android app and install it. The Aadhaar Face RD app is required to do the Aadhaar authentication of a person. After successful verification Pramaan id is generated.
